1st segment is under construction with completion date of 2027. 2nd segment has been extended to the Western Desert and has begun construction, with no announced end date. Is the reason there’s no plans for the lower delta?
The delta has lots of rail, and since the distances aren’t that long and Egypt doesn’t really have money to spare I guess using the normal rail there is fine.
