All depends on the time of the year. Apples are routinely stored in cold storage. It’s why we can get them year round.

If they’re mealy, you’re probably buying Red Delicious, a horrible mainstream cultivar that are known for that. I’ve never tasted another apple with that awful texture. You could probably try some other varieties and not have that problem.

Red delicious is what we normally get. I find them disgusting.

Those are the absolute worst apples. They’ve been selecvtively bred for storage and appearance vs. flavor and texture. Buying the most horrible, mainstream variety is what I’d expect from a conservative community mod. Maybe get a different kind? Pretty much anything… gala, fuji, cosmic crisp, envy.

It’s what my girlfriend buys and she’s a democrat.

I don’t buy apples. I buy nectarines, kiwi, bananas and anything other than apples

Sounds reasonable. Apples are pretty basic fruit. I’d rather eat peppers and a tomato as far as fruit goes.

I hate most store bought tomatoes. They lack flavor. A good heirloom tomato is such a treat
