Of course, it’s Netflix. They can’t stick to an idea for more than 2-3 years unless it makes billions.

Netflix and Hollywood don’t have the goal of making good movies and shows. Their goal is to make money and nothing else matters.

I just don’t understand why anyone watches Netflix anymore.

What’s the point in starting an interesting new show when there’s a 80% chance you’ll never see a proper ending?

          Exactly!

I canceled about 2 years ago and just download anything of interest. Which isn’t much.

It’s always been rare for shows to have a solid ending.
Netflix isn’t special in that regard.

Mindhunter hasn’t been officially canceled, I believe.
David Fincher just move on to other movies and never came back to it.

In a recent interview with the French publication Le Journal du Dimanche, Fincher, who also directed several episodes, was asked about Mindhunter’s future. Regarding the possibility of season 3, Fincher explained that the show is a costly investment for Netflix that is not worth the risk. Here is the quote below via GamesRadar:

“I’m very proud of the first two seasons, but it’s a particularly expensive series and, in the eyes of Netflix, we haven’t attracted a large enough audience to justify such an investment. I don’t blame them, they took risks to launch the series.”

I think it’s safe to say dead, as much as I would love to be wrong
