“House of the Dragon” hit a Season 2 high in viewership with Sunday’s finale, which drew 8.9 million multiplatform viewers across HBO and Max, per Warner Bros. Discovery.
That’s up 14% from the Season 2 premiere night, which garnered 7.8 million viewers. However, it is down from the audience size for the first season finale of “House of the Dragon” in 2022.
I agree. These high budget shows require so much time to produce that they lose momentum. I personally would be ok with a slightly worse visual (production wise) for a cohesive, well acted story with a few more episodes. But that is not HBO’s method, so I’m stuck waiting for the next season like I’m stuck waiting for the next book.
In 10 years, though, I’d like to be able to rewatch something spectacular rather than something that was rushed…looking at you GOT season 7/8. So there is really no perfect answer unless we want to sequester the people who create the show and make them create everything at once.
Same! I care more about the story and acting than visual effects. In my opinion, season’s 1-4 of GoT didn’t have phenomenal visual effects, yet were the best seasons due to their story and acting.
