Curious to know if anyone else thinks up backstories though the idea of some guy just waking up with zero memory and instantly killing shit is pretty rad too.My guy ,Kane The Vengeful, was born into a poor family from a foreign country in which the inhabitants are born with red eyes. Mentally abused by his mother in childhood he eventually ran away from the farm he grew up on around the age of 9. He wandered for years from place to place until he found himself in Yharnam some years later and took to pickpocketing and life as a street urchin at the age of twelve. He continued a life of petty crime and sleeping on benches until on the night of a hunt he found himself locked outside and surrounded by beasts, and here was when he was found by the old hunter Maria. This being in the days of the old hunters, she told him to stay hidden, and not come out till morning, lest even worse a blood drunk hunter where to find him. He found her later that morning hoping to thank her, but rather finding her among other hunters joining a posse about to ride out. His curiosity was piqued by the intricate weapons and tools they wielded and their mysterious demeanor, and his curiosity got the better of him as he stowed away in one of the wagons. He felt the wagon come to a stop and heard maddening groans just outside of it. He heard the hunters dismount and their footsteps leave from the wagon. He crept out to see a fucked up village with beasts roaming it and maddened townsfolk as the hunters cut them down. His curiosity once again overriding his fear to follow them. Once they noticed him they where understandably surprised not knowing what to do with him, Maria especially as she recognized him. They where in the thick of it with no time to take him back and she was forced to teach him how to fight and survive that moment as they where surrounded by beasts. He barely escaped with his life but with a newfound lust for thrill of combat and a strange curiosity of the beasts. Afterward, Maria rebuked him initially, but as days went on he continued to follow her around like a lost puppy as much as it annoyed her.She eventually gave in to his pestering and took him as her apprentice when he was only 13. Over the years they developed a mother to son or older sister adjacent bond, and though his life was constantly at risk he had never felt better in his life, amid the thrill of the hunt, a mother-like figure in his life at last, and access to the byrgenwerth studies to quell his innate curios nature.Around the time he had turned 20, this was when Maria and the other old hunters came back from the fishing hamlet, and he could tell something was wrong by the way she had been acting and refusing to say what happened at the hamlet. She was not herself and distant, and he was devastated upon being the one to find her after she’d committed suicide. This naturally left him mentally fucked and he no longer felt the thrill of the hunt, instead seeing his dead mentor everywhere. He retired from the hunt soon after, starting a family life with a wife and son, finding purpose again in giving to his family what he never had. Twenty years later, when the age of the old hunters had long passed, his family was killed on a night of the hunt, leaving him right back where he began. Without a family or a purpose. He donned his Hunter garbs once more, embarking on the hunt again, to find and out a stop to it once and for all with an insatiable vengeance for its root cause. Que the events of the game and his eventual discovery of Moon Presence as the source of the scourge. Just my head canon that the necklace on the charred Hunter garb is his late wife’s. Another head canon that when he discovers Maria in the hunter’s nightmare, she recognized him, and the comment “only an honest death will liberate you from your wild curiosity” is in reference his curious nature and mind that she knows led him to becoming a hunter in the first place. Thanks for reading that whole thing if ya did I’d love to know yours.

You pretty much gotta make up the Elden Ring lore, so Elden Ring players have a lot of practice.
