Retro games are often thought of as old games, but a recent wave of indie games inspired by classic titles is proving that you don’t have to look to the past to play a “retro” game.
The term “retro” itself doesn’t even really mean “old”, it just means something is imitating the style of something older from 20 or 30 years ago. Just look at clothing for instance, “retro style” clothes could have been designed yesterday as long as they emulate an older style. *Vintage" clothes would be actual old clothes that were produced a long time ago
Are you me? I’ve been saying this same basic thing for years now. I get that language evolves, but I don’t care for this permutation of “retro”
