I didn’t have an HDTV in 2008, so digging out the CRT from the old family PC buried in the garage and hooking it up to the 360 was the only way I could get 720p back then. It looked stupid but it worked.
I remember playing multiplayer games on a single console.
My friend and I playing pvp COD WaW on an 18” CRT trying not to screenpeak was a whole time lol

Nope, the Xbox 360 had an RCA connector so you could play it on CRT TVs no problem. This was all around 2009/2010.
I’m aware of that; by “CRT” I thought you meant CRT monitor.
