The part where they say about playing a Beach Boys song ‘California Dreamin’ threw me the first time as I thought it was a misquote as this was best known by The Mamas and The Papas. Here I come to find that the Beach Boys actually recorded a version in '86 for a best of album.
Hah, I’ll add another layer of humor - I actually thought it was an intentional mistake to illustrate that these were actually dumb kids (I say this as someone who was a dumb kid myself during roughly the same period) who didn’t know who The Mamas and The Papas were.

FWIW, if someone told me that California Dreamin was coming on the jukebox and then I heard the Beach Boys, I’d probably start screamin’ too. 🙂
