IMO any crime whilst on bail should act as a multiplier for the original sentence - in addition to being sentenced for the crime comitted.
Aside from that, 3 yrs for forcefully entering a governmental building is a pittance. The capitol, white house, court houses, state parliaments, police offices etc. They all represent the laws and institutions that are voted for by the people - and ought to be protected as such.
It kinda does already? The second trial’s sentencing will add points due to the criminal history of the first trial (e.g. page 379 for federal cases)
