I’m getting tired of his obliviousness and everyone around him being oblivious to it.

    It feels forced.

    Yet, I will watch.

I think it’s come to a head with the latest episode of him realizing he just beat a dragon, if they still make him oblivious in the next one I give up

Good to know. I am going to watch the latest episode today and probably follow your lead here.

It’s mainly the fault of the people around him for not cluing him in. I get that he’s been beat down and told he was worthless his whole life. But you’d imagine at least someone would exclaim some praise after he beats one of these legendary monsters.

It does seem to be turning a corner but it drove me crazy the first few episodes. I was so glad when Ossan Newbie dropped the act after two episodes.

It’s hilarious seeing big titles that were hyped up a year or so ago, immediately getting overshadowed by other titles I hadn’t even heard of.

So I’m significantly ahead in the light novels and let me tell you something: He just parried an elder god to death, and he’s still pretty oblivious. I haven’t read the very very latest novel yet, but I’m sure he’s not going to undergo any kind of major epiphany and become brilliant.

It’s the core humorous concept of the series, that he’s a strange person who has no sense of common sense.
