Actually he’s asking for a jumbo (large) mouse, funny cause in Arabic you literally read that as ‘jombo’

Fair enough. I just used an image translation thing on my phone, so I’m sure you are right. But being from the border of Texas/Louisiana, the idea of mouse gumbo is also hilarious AF.

I asked my friend from Morocco. He says the cat is asking for mouse flavored “Jumbo”. Jumbo is a brand of stock cubes which normally come in flavors like beef, chicken or lamb. The shopkeeper replies “que” in Spanish which means “what?”

I think gumbo would be spelled as either “كمبو” or “غمبو” instead of the “ج” with the sound “sha” or “dya” depending on dialect.

It can be قمبو (gulf) or جمبو (Egypt) as well.

(For non Arabic speakers, hard G does not natively exist in Arabic and different dialects use a different letter to denote a hard G, a lot of the time contextually)

I’d have to ask my teacher but given that it’s a smoke shop I think the guy is asking if the seller has any Jumbo Cigars?

The fact that its a ج and not a غ makes me doubt it’s supposed to be a G approximate.

Edit: needed to borrow some extra pixels from the neighbor to spot that the customer is a cat, stand by Jumbo instead of Gumbo though.

Makes sense to me. I just used machine translation and thought results were funny. So you probably know better than me.

G approximate varies upon regional dialect (annoying, I know first hand as a multinational Arab)

I’m aware… But apparently too stupid to see that you were continuing with the joke 🤣

            Anyhoo… here’s an upvote 😉
