We got one step closer to proving Roger Penrose right about quantum consciousness because we found out microtubules in the brain can allow for tryptophan to not only become quantum entangled in the brain, but also it could allow for superposition where entanglement can happen as a group of atoms rather than individually.

The biggest argument against it was no one thought an environment like the brain could support a quantum state, since it’s so hard for us to do it outside of our brains. After this discovery, that’s been solved.
