    They could fix it by removing ads and making content people enjoy, but why would they do that now that the cat is out of the bag? They’ll just keep charging people $90/mo to watch ads until they are no longer making a profit.

      making content isn’t enough anymore, all the content gets pushed out to streaming services because no one younger than millennials want to watch linear TV. Sports and 24 hour news are the only things keeping cable on life support. Sports because cable networks pay out the nose for exclusive rights, which they won’t be able to for much longer while bidding against streaming giants like Amazon. And 24 hour news because of the convenience factor to older people and businesses, which I think is also going to die out over time.

      So the reality is cable is just a dinosaur media delivery method that IS going to die, it’s only a matter of when.

        Hey. Most of us millenials don’t want to watch linear tv either. We can’t do that when we’re working 3 jobs to make rent.

      seems like all the streaming services are racing to enshittify their services with ads now too. oh but you can get rid of the ads if you PAY MORE… fucking hell
