    In “Mi planta de naranja-lima,” Portuga, whose real name is Manuel Valadares, is a significant character who becomes a father figure to the protagonist, Zezé. Zezé, a young boy dealing with poverty and family issues, meets Portuga when he is caught trying to play with his car. Despite the rough start, they develop a deep friendship.         I don’t understand how? I literally just saw your handle and remembered that book because it’s usually part of the advanced Spanish classes in highschool. That’s all. I don’t even know who you are or where you’re from. Sorry if you 🤕 hurt.
