      I’m all for shitting on bad decisions by mozilla but pretty sure there has been zero mention of ads in the actual browser itself. Do you have proof?

      predetermined bookmarks and tials on the startpage count as ads. There is even a tial showing different websites as ads. It’s easy to remove, but there are already ads as sabeW4K3 mentioned

      They’re not going to serve ads in page outside of sponsored tiles and things of that ilk and there’s been no suggestion otherwise.
