I know it’s a bit late, but we are having another Friday the 13th in December if I am not mistaken. Also, never a bad time to watch movies. Do any of these look interesting to you guys, or have you already seen any of them?

I’d rather not, but the very interesting thing is comparing the original, to the popularized version. I would suggest watching both actually. I would not call it unpleasant as in offensive or over the edge. It just exposes some natural human action and reactions to being exposed to a crisis. Psychologically, humans will, when presented to a thread, either fight, freeze or run away.

The original movie is in Danish, but I am sure that you will be able to find subtitles for it. There is some nudity, but among horror movie lovers, I would not call it over the edge. I can really recommend watching both though.

Fair enough. I’ll have to see how my partner feels. Subtitles are a tough sell

I read an interview of the director, who said that the plot of the original is also hard to sell to the world market. Still, it may be a good look into the difference of commercially tailored horror movies and honest psychological horror.

For me, the toe crumbling realizations of me likely reacting like the victims do, made it really relatable, and it not ending with a happy ending like the commercial version does, was really unpleasant
