Wouldn’t have to be if they weren’t lazy and only wanted to vote in presidential elections. Uncommitted might as well be code for uninterested. Cuz they’ll go to sleep for four more years after this.
I don’t think you can justifiably blame the voting base without also addressing the issue that the disinfranchisement is the direct result of years of work from both “sides” of politicians on the behalf of the bourgeoisie. Anything short of a revolutionary party targeting transition of our government to a more representively democratic structure with additional parties, viewpoints, and stronger individual representation is just kicking the can.
I absolutely can because I can see numbers. I can see numbers of my own local community. Numbers that show disengagement. Numbers that show that during a presidential election tons more people vote than any other year. Consistently. Numbers that show a city council getting elected by an extremely small voting base in my area because most people can’t be bothered. People always complain about ‘oh we need revolutionary change’ but you can make revolutionary change on your local level and people just don’t bother. Things that affect their day-to-day life are decided all the time by a small number of people who show up.
Cool. So you understand that level of disinfranchisement is driven by politicians, right?.. Or are you that daft that you really think everyone just doesn’t care?
100% laziness. You people are here like it’s some Grand conspiracy and I just find that so naive. Yeah a lot of people are lazy yeah most people don’t pay attention that’s the reality. Most people don’t want to know how the sausage is made. Have you ever spoken to the average person? I find it impossible to believe that you speak to average people everyday and you’ve come to the conclusion that they all would be passionate voters where they’re not an evil cabal of politicians trying to keep them down. Most people don’t even know when elections happen. Just last fall I went to a store which was across the street from a polling place covered in signs with people outside campaigning this woman at the register saw my I just voted pin and asked me if there was election that day. You really think she didn’t know because she was engaged but couldn’t vote because of politicians or because she just didn’t care?
There’s only one way to do that though
Must be a bug. Couldn’t possibly be a feature…

I absolutely think that people don’t care.
You’re so fucking close. Alright, now squeeze those two brain cells together. Let’s make a spark. “Why don’t they care?”. Hint: It’s not laziness.
