When we got the puppy who was at a few months already a little bigger than the cat, we avoided trimming her claws for about a month prior. When the dog was nearby and she was nonchalantly cleaning her paws we used to joke that she was “ready’in the bitch slappin’ paw!” While it certainly wasn’t the only way we acclimated them to each other, fucking around and finding out was an important part of the puppy’s early chilhood education.
