Gotta admit, I wave water off my hands. Those air-dryers are too loud and the no-touch towel dispensers only work like half the time.

It’s fine as long as you look around first and don’t see any rotund, bald, and very angry men.

Yep, people should deffo flick water off more often. I watched a TEDx talk about how to completely dry your hands with a single shitty paper towel, and one of the key points the dude made was to flick as much water off as possible before touching a towel. I think he said to flick down into the sink 12-15 times, but I might be wrong. I don’t do everything the guy said, but the flicking part is great.

EDIT: this is the talk: https://youtu.be/2FMBSblpcrc

Same here, but I don’t fling them about willy-nilly. I direct it toward the sink or trash can, and certainly not around others.

Those air dryers are unhygienic in nature, will make germs go all over the room, and may be worse then if you didn’t wash them at all.

While your unwashed hands will carry many more germs there is an argument that these are part of your own micro ecosystem and useful by your immune system. The other germs in the room are not.

This is the reasons they where all blocked off during covid, its weird we went back to using them.

There is no argument for having poop particles on the hands. That’s the point of washing them, so one doesn’t share as much of one’s poop with other people.

There is no argument for such indeed. Only to always skip the blowdryer.

Everytime anyone uses it poop particles will get everywhere. Everyone in the room basically needs a bath at that point.

Stating that they are worse then you not washing hands is not an endorsement for not washing your hands on itself.

The thing i added about unwashed hands germs having a benefit is because i look stuff up before talking and there will be a lower of quantity of germs on your hands if you wash and then blow… but the germs that will be on it are more dangerous and also got into your mouth.

it’s definitely best to skip the air dryers, but i dont think this is a good argument for not washing your hands, especially depending on what exactly you got up to in the bathroom. i think it’s best to just wash your hands (for 20 seconds with soap and water) and then dry them on your shirt or something.

also this is slightly unrelated, but the “germs flying everywhere” thing is also why it’s best to always close the toilet lid before flushing whenever possible. especially if you have some tooth brushes lying around.
