Most people don’t understand how dire their situation is when mother nature shows up. Especially immigrants who may have never experienced such weather.
Did it wash into the building, or just the people in the parking lot trying to save their means of transport that allows any type of work in most parts of this country?
How likely are you actually going to get fired for not showing up one day during a hurricane?
I if the entire staff just didn’t show up that one day they’re probably not all going to get fired.
In hindsight, your job is probably secure now that they are short staffed (which is fucking disgusting).
