Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Lebanese people that they could face “destruction and suffering” like the Palestinians in Gaza if they don’t “free” the country from Hezbollah.

“You have an opportunity to save Lebanon before it falls into the abyss of a long war that will lead to destruction and suffering like we see in Gaza,” the Israeli prime minister said in a video address directed to the people of Lebanon.

“I say to you, the people of Lebanon: Free your country from Hezbollah so that this war can end.”

That is not something I would take as fact. Questionable polling at best, and it’s laughable to say it’s what the American people want when they have no say in the matter. The powers at be will not allow candidates to be critical of Israel…ie the PACs that choose which candidates are on the national ticket. I’m sure if the American people were able to vote on this issue, funding to Israel would cease immediately.

The reality is that VOTERS (so, old people, since young people don’t vote) are overwhelmingly in favor of Israel. So stop acting shocked when in a democracy the elected representative does literally what people who elected him want him to do. Which in this case is to pursue a cease fire.

Yes. Democrats and Independents both favor conditioning arms sales to Israel and say . Republicans don’t matter. There may also be questions that ask “do you support Israel” that also have a majority, but that’s not the question at hand (whether to continue supporting their war effort). And even if you shift to argue that the American opinion is mixed, that’s very much not overwhelmingly favoring continuing our role in the genocide.

These heavily qualified opinions are all entirely shared by Joe Biden. Because as I said, Joe Biden will do and say literally whatever is most popular. That’s his entire schtick.

So thanks for proving my point. Children.

He’s literally not doing what’s most popular. If he was we’d be reducing and/or conditioning military aid, the position supported by a majority of the population. What are you even talking about?

Five in 10 Americans (53%) support placing restrictions on US military aid to Israel so that it cannot use that aid toward military operations against Palestinians.

Wild that people can act condescending when just patently saying the wrong thing after being shown the exact data that proves them wrong.
