There were old ones made of wood, one i remember specifically was a pinball/baseball game where instead of flippers you had a bat. Search “vintage arcade games” on YouTube and you’ll see what I grew up on. Fortunately a lot of them were a nickle or dime to play.

Then after a while home games were really weak kinda representations of arcade games.
Then they were basically the same gameplay, just with worse graphics.
Eventually, the only advantage an arcade had were specialty controls and fun atmosphere.
