        Morbid is such an interesting adjective as it’s only commonly used in conjunction with obese. You’d never say someone’s hair is morbidly blond, or his face is morbidly orange, or his brain is morbidly small.

          It’s because the definition of morbid doesn’t fit any of those examples except the last.

          The reason it’s used in conjunction with obese is to mean that the person is so fat that it’s likely to be the reason they die.

          It’s a classification of obese. Class 1 obesity is >30 bmi, and each class of obese is in increments of 5. >40 bmi is class three, aka morbidly obese
