The sad reality is that Google, in a way, killed RSS when it killed Google Reader. I often think that was intentional.

I think it’s possible for Google to kill email if Gmail went away. Not that there aren’t huge and effective alternatives…just the idea that Google says “email is over” would be enough to kill it.
