I just want a sidebar to mess around with first before I make the changes to my actual community’s sidebar.

    If you post, the post will be public.

    If you squatted a community and didn’t do anything with it I imagine you’d be at risk of:

    • Having someone else petition the admins to actually do something with it.
    • Having it removed in spam cleanups.

    What would be the purpose of a community that users can’t post to and mods don’t post to?

      To test platform features. I used to have a private sub on Reddit for this purpose so when I was modding the real subs I knew what I was doing and how.

        Fair enough. I’d recommend to fill out the sidebar with an explanation like this so folks understand what it’s about. Good luck.
