These kind of headlines really make us look like crackpot to the right. Joe Rogan is not one of the worst people ever.

He’s a self interested comedian and Podcaster who platforms people indiscriminately. The conservatives have made themselves available to him, and he has shows to make. He has plenty of liberal guests that don’t get confrontational or hostile interviews and most of his personal politics are pretty liberal.

Rush Limbagh, Alex Jones, Bill O’Reilly were all actually conservative right wing monsters.

Yeah, though in his (incredibly lukewarm) defense he seemed more interested in the batshit crazy aliens-control-the-government theories than the more pedestrian conservative stuff, although the line between the two has greatly narrowed over the years.

He’s making entertainment. But he also pushed back on him alot, or at least he used to. He really lets people go off though because it’s a 3 hour talk. He doesn’t have to keep them on track or concise. There are lots of episodes where crackpots come on and the reaction isn’t “this guy is right”.

It is a really long format show to watch and actually get context for if you don’t enjoy him at all. Too many people consider him a monster just from snippets or articles, which is why I wish people would chill with the hyperbolic claims.

He’s friendly with people who are nice to him and help him provide good content for his audience. Unfortunately, the more he’s villianized the more that becomes exclusively right wing shills. He’s not just gonna stop the show because the people willing to book skew right. He was booking Elon before he became so publicly problematic. He is also the reason Neil deGrasse Tyson was popularized. And he has research paper authors on fairly regularly. It’s a mixed bag.
