Israel warned Dutch authorities days prior because of what they had seen on social media. Dutch police warned Israeli fans to avoid taxis because they knew the taxi drivers were coordinating an attack. There are now screen grabs starting to circulate of text exchanges in taxi driver chat groups talking about how to avoid police and hanging up Palestinian flags to incite a response.
This was a planned, coordinated pogrom. Fans were beaten unconscious, run over by cars, and chased into the canal to escape, with the mob screaming, “Say free Palestine and we’ll leave.”
