I got a single solve PB yesterday of 45 seconds 😀 and a sub-minute Ao5. Very happy about that. Also Pyraminx PB of 18 seconds. That was also a fun training session. Kept lowering my PB solve after solve until the 18 😅
Started cubing this summer at 37 years old. So much fun and addictive.
That’s great to hear! We’re about the same age, always happy to hear people our age cubing :) I’ve been cubing for…maybe 9 years now? Seems like when I go to comps, most of the kids weren’t even born when I started haha
Same, CFOP. Still learning the algorithms though. I’m very far from learning all the OLLs, I mostly just quickly make a beginner’s method yellow cross after F2L and then see which OLL I can do from there, but still haven’t even learned all the cross OLLs. 😅
I have quite a few PLLs in my muscle memory now, but several left to learn. Getting there though, I need to practice more. I’m really not liking those pesky N and G perms. 😩
Also a lot of optimization left to do during F2L, to be honest. I barely plan anything, just search and find the pairs and insert them as I find them. Not very fast obviously.
But. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished in a few months at least 😅
I haven’t learned full OLL either, missing all the dot cases and some of the weird cases. I think I have full PLL but sometimes, if I don’t cube for a few weeks, I forget some and have to relearn haha
I can plan a cross but I cannot track the first pair. Just can’t wrap my mind around x-cross. So I’m just trying to get better at look ahead these days.
Yeah, definitely something to be proud of! I think as long as I keep improving, even in the littlest ways, I’d be happy

Thanks! Haha yeah, age is a funny thing sometimes…
What’s your method by the way?
CFOP. How about you?
