Summary

Mike Davis, a Trump adviser and possible nominee for attorney general, issued a threatening warning to New York Attorney General Letitia James, who sued Trump for business fraud, not to continue her legal actions against him in his second term, threatening to put her in prison.

Davis’s inflammatory remarks, including personal insults, come as James has vowed to defend Americans against any unconstitutional actions by the new administration.

Known for his extreme rhetoric, Davis has previously suggested punishing journalists and Trump’s political opponents harshly, though it’s often unclear when he’s serious.

Trump has hinted at a significant role for Davis in his administration.

Really, are we going to play that game for the next 4 years? There was no time for a primary (after Biden stepped down, because I’ve already had this conversation). They needed to get on the campaign trail asap.

Yeah that’s kind of literally my point. Biden shouldn’t have tried to run at all

And actually if you look closely I explicitly, unambiguously stated this in my comment here:

“Kamala was not selected in any kind of primary, she was forced onto us when Joe Bidens stupid ass decided to run for reelection when he’s already got one foot in the grave and inevitably had to back down.

Forget it. Your interlocutor will never admit that the Democratic Party is capable of fucking up as badly as we all just saw.

So, what policies should Democrats abandon in their next attempt to lose by simping for Republicans like they did this time?

“not selected in any kind of primary, she was forced onto us” sounds very much like you wanted a primary after Biden stepped down. I really don’t think I’m the odd one out hearing it like that.

Yeah that’s because you’re backspacing the part of my quote where I call a Biden a dumbass for attempting a run at all. You literally backspaced the part that I put in bold for emphasis. I’m done with this

Seriously? That still sounds like you want a primary after he stepped down, it didn’t change anything - especially when you say forced. You don’t want forced? Sounds like you want a primary after he stepped down.

I don’t know about them because I’m just jumping into this conversation but I wanted a primary a long time ago. Biden said he was only going to run once. He was in no condition to run, his pride got in the way.

Kamala was not able able to connect with working class people. Even if she had good policy ideas she was not able to address the cause of inflation and point to it well. She should have stressed that she would strengthen the FTC and go after corporate price gouging. Rather than spending half of the election taking shots at Trump, she should have looked at people’s real concerns and leaned into the fact that she was a prosecutor and could really go after the people to blame.

And we were robbed of a primary by Biden.

And this is the exact sort of establishment politics that people are sick of. And the exact reason why Trump is so popular. In spite of being a total fucking shit heel.

I think we all wanted him to step down early and have a real first primary. That’s not the misunderstanding, which is whether a primary should have taken place after Biden stepped down.
