The glass back is NOT very resilient. it slipped from my pocket in my pants, while sitting on the terrace, a ca. 40-50cm drop, and the glass back cracked.
This is the ONLY time I dropped it, so it’s not like one time too many.
I’m never buying a glass back phone ever again.
Glass is not premium, it’s a design flaw.
Well, it’s not really a design flaw, on most devices it’s more of a design compromise for wireless charging.
Except the 13T doesn’t even have wireless charging, and even if it had not really, synthetics have zero problems with that, it’s way more durable and shock resistant, and protects the phone better, it’s also thinner and it weighs less.
So yes it’s fair to call it a design flaw IMO, compared to a quality synthetic, that is superior in every way.
Unfortunately the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro are not available with a quality synthetic, but only vegan leather as an alternative. And vegan leather is not very durable either.
I had the LG G4 with real leather, and it looked very warn after about a year, and vegan leather is allegedly less durable than real leather.
On the LG G4 you could swap out the back, which you can’t on the 13T.
