Good things come to those who wait, and for 3D modelling professionals with a preference for open-source software, the wait for the FreeCAD 1.0 release
I tried it after using solidworks for 15 years (I don’t think it was 1.0 as far as I can tell, but it was a month ago) and it’s not bad if it’s the first kind of CAD you use. It is definitely rough switching from something more polished. If I had more coding acumen, I’d love to help get things more user friendly with some some of the more quality of life things.
