Smartphone OSs: and this is why we need an elaborate sandboxing and privacy system! You can’t trust what those apps might do.

Also, our apps will get special exemption.

      I’m all with you

In the meanwhile GrapheneOS seems to the one which gives you the most control

any recommendations for which phone to go for to use with graphene?

any issues with graphene? do you use modern soul sucking apps such as discord and such and so they work fine?

I had a Pixel 6 and now I use a Pixel 8, both of which I had battery problems (they don’t last long) and they also get too hot. But unfortunately they are the only ones that run GrapheneOS so it is a sacrifice that I am willing to make. Regarding apps, all the ones I use, without exception are open source and I have no problem with them so far

I’m debating on switching, got pixel 6a to have the option to but I use my phone a lot to pay which I won’t be able to do on grapheneOS I read.

Just use a contactless bank card.

Privacy is worth it. Plus, it’s actually faster as you don’t need to unlock your phone. Can have it in your phone case and save time.

Yeah, that might be better since paying with phone took sometimes few tries for some reason lately.

For nfc payments I think you need to add the card to Google wallet/pay as far as I found out. So that’s bit annoying, we are so deep in Google stuff you can’t get away easily.
