Summary

President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter Biden, reversing his prior stance against using executive clemency.

The pardon covers Hunter’s federal gun conviction and tax evasion guilty plea, sparking political controversy.

Biden cited political attacks and a “miscarriage of justice” as reasons for his decision, emphasizing his son’s recovery from addiction and the targeting of his family.

Critics argue the move undermines the judicial process, while supporters view it as within Biden’s constitutional powers.

This decision shields Hunter from potential prison time as Biden nears the end of his presidency.

A lot of these comments sum up to “if they can do bad, we can do bad”. Two party system will be the death of the U.S.

We don’t have a system that allows for third parties. Push for ranked choice voting or approval voting at the local and state levels. Also push for an increase in the House and multi member districts. If you want a viable third party, it has to be built up from the base and can’t just be some asshole who runs every four years for publicity.

Voting 3rd party is why Donald Trump is our president.

I mean do you need me to illustrate this in crayon for you to understand? It’s pretty simple.

A 3rd party candidate cannot and will not win a presidential election until a 3rd party spends YEARS building a grassroots campaign to start electing 3rd party candidates in local/state elections across the nation. Then, once that massive infrastructure is built and they have candidates with household names and a shit ton of money to spend on campaigning, they can actually run a candidate for president that could potentially, maybe actually stand a chance. Voting for some unknown asshole that comes out from under a rock every 4 years is beyond stupid.

If you try to skip all that necessary hard work and vote for a 3rd party candidate now, like in this last election, you’re a world class fool that is just going to help make the least palatable candidate president, which is literally what just happened.

Like, how stupid can someone be to literally watch what I just described happen in realtime and STILL think voting for a 3rd party candidate in this political climate is an intelligent thing to do?

If you vote 3rd party right now, or at any time in the near future, in a PRESIDENTIAL election, you’re a supreme fucking idiot.

Brain dead af. This election had millions of voters stay at home, not vote third party genius. Your neoliberal stance is completely wrong also.

Roughly 150 million people voted. Initial reports indicate that around 2% voted 3rd party. That comes out to 3 million. If you don’t think 3 million votes make a difference, you’re braindead af.
