Same. Currently missing a good way to make my Steam library available in the living room.

Moonlight also still builds for it, you can get it from their GitHub, extract it to a fat32 usb drive and boot the Steam Link with it connected.

Any old mini PC will run steam link.

Meanwhile I just plug my PC into my TV and compute from the couch. Keyboard in lap, mouse on endtable or armrest. It’s ridiculously comfy.

I had actually assumed they stopped supporting it so I kept mine unplugged for a year or two. Turned it on the other day on a whim and was surprised by having to wait on a new update.

I used an Nvidia shield with moonlight but it keeps crashing on me as of recent. But a new standalone solution would be sexy.

Yeah but controller options are limited, the Steam Controller is expensive used and there isnt a replacement.

You can use any controller with a steam deck though. I use our ps5 controllers to play cult of the lamb with my husband and I have a wired Xbox controller I’ve used as well. Both work flawlessly.

You can use any controller but imo none feel as comfortable as the original steam controller in my larger hands, also the touchpads are nice.

I have had problems with the official dock so I got a cheap third party replacement and it has been flawless.

It quite often didn’t recognize the HDMI output so I’d have to try all kinds of things like rebooting and unplugging/replugging until it would finally output to my screen. Also had some trouble getting it to start charging a few times.

I got a cheap third party stand/dock and use my Deck more in the living room than I do portably now.
