Summary

Congress faces a Dec. 20 deadline to avoid a government shutdown, likely passing a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government until March 2025.

This would delay a full spending deal but give Republicans more influence under Trump and a GOP-controlled Senate. However, it creates an early funding deadline in Trump’s term, complicating his agenda on tax cuts and immigration.

Democrats retain power to shape legislation due to the Senate’s 60-vote threshold.

Disaster relief funding and House Speaker Mike Johnson’s re-election further complicate negotiations.

Yeah, you’re right, better to let them curbstomp us while we wring our virtuous hands and think about the high road that’s breaking our teeth.

That’s not my meaning. My meaning is there is one hundred percent a working message. It’s fuck billionaire money, I’m here to make food and housing affordable again and we’re going to do everything in or power to do it. And then make good on those promises. Biden didn’t do that. Harris never separated from Biden.

If the Dems start pulling the same shit the GOP are, they’ll just be called copy cats and hounded in the billionaire owned media.
