Someone I know saw it and said it has the laziest, milquetoast plot ever. It’s basically “we must unite all the creatures/people of the sea!” That’s it. No “…or they’ll all die” or any semblance of urgency or consequences. It’s the most cash grab a cash grab can be. It’s like Disney is actively trying to avoid anything “controversial” and they don’t want to mention very real things like climate change.
