Wasn’t there a whole anti-trust issue with duckduckgo a while ago, with duckduckgo exempting Microsoft trackers from its ad block? Link
They admitted that by contractual obligation, in exchange for using bing as the underlying search engine they have to let in some trackers from microsoft, though they do mention in their response that this is not applicable to their search engine (?).
As for the beta program for duckduckgo on windows, I think most issues might be ironed out in time.
I somehow missed the antitrust thing, but it’s not unexpected; especially considering they use Bing as their search index. Thing is, there isn’t really a better search engine if you want to limit trackers as far as I know.
