I watched some videos and I’m not sure I’m understanding how this game is going so wild.

But the comments and reviews seem to indicate extremely addicting?

I’m afraid to buy it but I’m also curious…

I can confirm. This is the first time in over a decade that I’ve accidentally stayed up til sunrise playing a game. It seems so deceptively simple but you get hooked on trying to make big combos, and the wins are so satisfying.

Don’t be afraid, join the fun. It’s simple, expansive, and luck based. You’ll feel good making your first 1000 point play, and then that high will only exist at larger and larger numbers. It’s not a huge hit, at first. Then you’re getting solid million point plays and laughing like you’re Jack Nicholson with a winning Straight Flush.

As a game, it’s mechanics are simple in that there’s not a lot going on. The numbers are clearly printed, the math laid out before you. There’s no (major) hidden features or information to take in, and in regards to stress it’s not exactly high stakes. I’d call that simple, but it could be a difference of colloquial use of the term.

I tried it but I liked slay the spire more. Balatro felt like pure math though I did drop it fairly quickly after only an hour.
