I think instead of going completely dark it may be beneficial to lock down the subreddit with a sticky linking to related communities inside the federation to help people find a new home

Yeah, maybe. And I guess some mods may go back, although you’d think many that participated in the blackout would stay out. I guess we’ll see what happens tomorrow.
