Risk of rain returns, senuas saga, balatro, doronko wanko, animal well, another crabs treasure, hades 2, ballionare, etc, etc. There’s so many amazing games coming out all the time if you know where to look.

Another crab’s treasure was fantastic, been loving Nine Sols as well and it might be my favourite game visually, lots of hand drawn stuff and it blends Cyberpunk with Eastern mythology (devs describe as “taopunk”)

I want to give a shout out to ravenswatch. I’m not really into indie rogue like. But I’m 500 hours deep this year.

lh i forgot hades 2 came out this year. none of the others appeal much to me. i just tend to like the genres that are hard to do on smaller budget. story driven rpgs and action adventure games that aren’t souls like. not platformers, not craft survival, not extraction shooters, not bullet hell. there’s plenty of indie games i can enjoy, but few that i love. and sometimes it’s annoying when indie game fans just assume it’s because I’m ignorant that i don’t live their favorite games.

i hadn’t heard of doronko wanko or another crabs treasure. i might check those out

i am however looking forward to many of the games announced at the game awards this year.

How about Dread Delusion and The Thaumaturge? Honestly, from what I’m seeing here, you’ve got a very narrow target to hit, and those two still might hit it in the non-AAA space. And in AAA, have you checked out Indiana Jones?
