I can’t tell if Taco Bell has the best grass roots advertising campaign of the fediverse or if everyone just really loves Taco Bell

Dude I swear, Taco Bell is either having some really good marketing lately, or people are just naturally talking about them for some reason. Hell, a YouTuber I normally watch reviewed a new food item on their menu out of the blue, and he normally does gaming content. I’m like 95% sure it was an ad.

I cared for it when I could get a filling lunch there for $2.50. That was in 1990.

I had it for the first time around '90 in a financially struggling family and, while it was something of a treat, I never wanted to go back. To me then, I think it was just weird in terms of flavor (to me at the time), so maybe I was just off to a bad start. Today, I love in Japan and grow my own ingredients to make the tex-mex (and sometimes more traditionally Mexican) food I would later grow to love

    • I’ve traveled around the country, and I can say that unless you live somewhere with a decent Hispanic population, Taco Bell is likely the best Mexican food you can get in a lot of places.

California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona: Taco Bell ain’t shit. We all can get the real good shit.

No, I don’t eat Taco Bell to satisfy a Mexican-food craving; I eat it to satisfy a Taco Bell craving. I don’t consider it Mexican food, but that doesn’t mean I enjoy it any less.

Good point. Within the US I’ve only lived in places with lots of good Mexican food so I guess my experience is skewed

People really love taco bell. It’s cheap, accessible and is injected with addictive sugar and fats. Their phone app is a privacy nightmare, food is low grade, but people love it so much that they learn what time food gets thrown out to get higher quality. Its practically a cult/religion. One of my friends is a fanboy and orders everything vegi + meat because it’s cheaper than the normal meat versions.

I can’t speak for everyone else, but personally, I could eat TB everyday for the rest of my life and never be sick of it. Contrast with other fast food, I’ve only been able to manage McD a couple times in a row before I’m done with it lol

I used to love it as a teen. But now as an adult, I don’t really care for it much anymore…like it’s ok but it’s like maybe my 5th pick. I moved to within walking distance of two fast food joints…one of them being Taco Bell. I frequent the other fast food joint all the time (don’t feel like saying which at the risk of being accused of being a corporate shill), but rarely ever go to the Taco Bell. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy it from time to time, but it seems like all the menu items are literally just meat, cheese, and tortilla. And then they get your order wrong 90% of the time even when you only order like 2 things.

With a lot (but obviously not all) other fast food establishments, it either feels like there is more variety or I can actually get something like a vegetable with my stuff. The other fast food joint near me makes a decent salad which is one of the reasons I like to go there instead.

      So idk.
