I’m sitting here as a night shift nurse like WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU WAKING ME UP AFTER I’VE ONLY SLEPT FOR FOUR HOURS???

Clearly he would be able to know that I messaged him the list of household tasks I completed at 10:30am so that means I probably fell asleep around 11-11:30 which means that waking me up at 3 when he gets home from work is only 4 hours of sleep instead of the usual 8 I’ve gotten by 3p which is obviously inadequate but doubly so for either of us who have known psychiatric disorders and-

oh yeah I’m a night shift psych nurse and 75% of my job is monitoring people’s circadian rhythms. 95% of people know none of that information and definitely aren’t habitually counting people’s sleep hours in their head. He’s not calculating how much sleep I’ve gotten he just wakes me up when he gets home because that’s normally when I’m done sleeping. He knows AN hour, not a calculation of hours.

Kicking off the new year with another episode of “normies don’t do that.”

Stay well, besties.

normally it’s fine cuz I’ve slept plenty by 3p and I like spending time with my partner. It’s a really weird relationship dynamic to not want to spend time with your partner?

or was thinking it? I semi recently read a lovely ode to the etymological usage of the word “like” as a way to connote approximation; it allows for conveying meaning and emotion without the restriction of precision, but admittedly drives pedants a tad bonkers yonkers.
