Twitter is not a public service/utility. You shouldn’t rely on it for important, factual informatilon.
it should be treated as a public service when government entities use it as a means to communicate with the public.
This communication should never be in hands of a private cooperation
Just like hurricane warnings and so on are using the system designed for such things and not just… Twitter or Facebook or something
Then the government should take it. Just like they have done with telephone lines and power lines and the internet. They should utilitize Twitter and create government jobs for technical maintenance. A publicly owned and tax maintained communication platform sounds way better than whatever Twitter is now.

We need to change how governments spend money on software and networks. Don’t throw public money into private hands, use it to build up open alternatives.
Public money, public code.
I’m not interested in disowning, I’m interested in building up a public infrastructure, that actually serves us all - as we all paid for it
