It makes me really sad that Microsoft gave up on the windows phone as it had the best user interface and the performance was great. It was an easy to use third option to Android and IOS. Although not open source.

2 more years and Postmarket OS will be just as old as the windows phone was when it shutdown.

I hated Windows phone, I’m glad it’s dead. Horrid Windows 8 looking UI with uneccesary bloatware infesting your homescreen. After trashing all the bloatware, you could find 0 apps you want to use in Windows’ tiny tiny app store.

Never had a Windows Phone myself, nor would I have taken one, so can’t speak from daily driver experience. But from what I saw from my ex and my dad having WP work phones that I had to help them with… My god those were terrible menu hells if you had to change anything. Even worse than Nokia’s Symbian.

Also never forgiven Microsoft for their mole killing Nokia by going all in on Windows Phone.

ugh absolutely correct take. i wish some of the edge of screen touch gestures were preserved into 10 and 11, those were on par with ios even today
