A tragic situation went from bad to worse in Evansville, Illinois, after police who responded to complaints about animal neglect ended up shooting the dog they were summoned to help, WISH reported.
See, the knee jerk reaction is to say “well why don’t we shoot the polices family dog?”
But that’s not the answer. Thats some eye for an eye shit. And you have to remember that these animals don’t understand what a cop is. They just know what they’ve been trained to do. If you go out and start shooting police dogs, you’re just killing dogs.
I don’t know what the answer is. But it’s not that. I just know this shit needs to stop.
The answer is to fire the police.
Out of a cannon.
Into the sun.
And then rehome the dogs in an environment where their caretakers have the space and patience to understand that these dogs are going to be instinctively aggressive. And they need the knowledge to be patient and caring with these dogs whose instincts will be to attack. Someone who can sooth that instinct away.
And probably on a farm, so they’re away from the city, and people. It’s possible years later they may get triggered and attack. I feel that threat is less likely on a farm away from people.
