Yes, tiktok was absolutely the worst, but it speaks very loudly that the US doesn’t hold other companies to the same standard

They hold every social media company to the same equal standard. Facebook, twitter, google, bluesky, and tiktok are all equally forbidden from operating while chinese.

This is in no way targeted, like not even a little bit… honest

Cuban social media is completely out of control. We should invade immediately

It is illegal to send US Citizens data there.

Actually, when they banned TikTok they also made it illegal for any company to send American data to any adversarial country including China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela.

In fact, TikTok could just sell to an American Owner at this very moment and continue operating. They didn’t sell, though. Because they don’t operate for profit. They operate for gain as a hostile foreign military asset.

I’ll take “the conclusion doesn’t follow from the premises at all” for 500 Alex

…so it’s fine if an American company does it?

Sorry, typo it was supposed to say “any company”

Thats the entire point, FaceBook and Google are held to the same exact standard.

China already blocks those services, btw.
