I agree with this move. China required US manufacturers to partner with Chinese firms 40 years ago and stole much of the research and development as a result.
If Chinese manufacturers want to sell in the US, we should return the favor.
We also need a GDPR-type privacy law for any software, foreign or domestic, that utilizes citizens’ private data. Having a hostile nation controlling key infrastructure in the US would be a fatal error.
