Every time it’s being recommended it’s always falling apart because they can never actually come up with a safe ID verification system. It’s just idiot politicians who come up with these policies without thinking them through, don’t be praising that kind of lackluster thought process.

Those with intelligence are able to accept and analyze an idea without agreeing with it

No I’m saying that the execution has never been anywhere close to acceptable.

I have not given my opinion on the matter one way or the other because it’s irrelevant

The idea is solid even if the execution is awful. I didn’t say they were doing it WELL. Just that keeping track of who is doing what online will be v v v important is body enhancements grow in popularity. You really want black hats hacking people’s body parts? Lemmy is kek sometimes

The idea itself of tracking everything everyone does has been awful since long before the internet even existed.

Yeah, stripping away more anonymity will help, when fascists start doxxing us and coming to our houses with cans of gasoline.

Aussies aren’t giving anyone ID at this point in time

There is currently no solution or implementation for the social media access law

There’s no solution or implementation, and the law in place actually forbids social media from requiring ID as the means of age verification. But who knows what it’ll end up actually looking like, because even the politicians didn’t bother figuring that out before passing the law in under a week.

Well they’re trending in that direction. Wise move honestly. We haven’t evolved to have smart phones or social media, especially children.

You are why humanity will end up with fascist dystopian big brother, and you’re probably too ignorant to even understand how or why.

Yes good you advocate for such a perfect world where everybody’s online activity can be constantly tracked. Fuck yeah, surveillance states rock! I love it when laws exist that require me to offer my full name, dob and address to every shady website in existence! /s

In regards to you coming to a tech forum, making tech commentary, and then thinking everyone else is ignorant for disagreeing with you, might I offer you some light reading?
