John Healey says the vessel is used to gather intelligence and map the UK's underwater infrastrcuture.

Healey added: “I also wanted President Putin to hear this message: we see you, we know what you’re doing and we will not shy away from robust action to protect this country.”

    you can’t be certain everything isn’t double backdoored and pinging back home in some way. It’s better to not risk it.
