I go to https://lemmy.world/communities and there’s like 20 sorting options, half of them being Top <timeframe> and name isn’t an option. What’s up with that?

I suppose the Lemmy devs simply haven’t seen a need to implement that sort option. You could add an issue to the project GitHub to request that feature.

Sifting through an alphabetical community list doesn’t sound very useful, though. There are tens of thousands of communities on Lemmy, and most are inactive.
I want to see if there are new communities on other instances with names similar to ones I’ve already subscribed, without going back and forth manually searching for the names of my current subscriptions.
